The new qPCR kits are now available:

Vitassay qPCR Vancomycin Resistance is a Real-Time PCR kit for the qualitative detection and differentiation of vanA and vanB genes associated with vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) in clinical samples.

Vitassay qPCR BK & JC allows the detection and differentiation of BK and JC Virus by real-time PCR in clinical samples.

Primary infection with both BK and JC virus typically occurs in childhood, with 50% of children having seroconversion for BK virus by 3-4 years of age, and for JC virus by 10-15 years of age. Primary infection is usually asymptomatic or associated with mild upper respiratory symptoms. By adulthood, 80% of people have been infected by either BK virus, JC virus, or both.
