Swan Christian Education Association Inc. Enterprise Agreement 2018: What You Need to Know

The Swan Christian Education Association Inc. (SCEA) is a Western Australian organization that manages several schools throughout the state, including Swan Christian College, Mundaring Christian College, and Southern Hills Christian College. As an employer, SCEA has a responsibility to maintain fair and equitable working conditions for its staff. To this end, the organization has created an enterprise agreement that outlines the terms and conditions of employment for its employees.

The SCEA Enterprise Agreement 2018, which came into effect on 29 June 2018, covers employees who are employed in the schools managed by SCEA. The agreement sets out the minimum terms and conditions of employment, including wages, hours of work, leave entitlements, and other conditions of employment.

A key feature of the agreement is the establishment of minimum rates of pay for all employees covered by the agreement. These rates are based on the employee`s classification and are designed to ensure that all employees receive fair remuneration for the work they perform. The rates of pay are reviewed annually and are adjusted in line with changes to the cost of living.

In addition to rates of pay, the agreement also sets out the minimum hours of work for full-time and part-time employees. Full-time employees are required to work 38 hours per week, while part-time employees are required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. The agreement also provides for flexible working arrangements, such as job sharing and part-time work, to accommodate the needs of employees who require them.

The SCEA Enterprise Agreement 2018 also includes provisions for leave entitlements, including annual leave, personal leave, and long service leave. All employees are entitled to four weeks of annual leave per year, as well as 10 days of personal leave and long service leave after 10 years of continuous service.

Overall, the SCEA Enterprise Agreement 2018 is designed to ensure that employees of SCEA schools are treated fairly and equitably. By providing a clear set of terms and conditions of employment, the agreement helps to establish a stable and productive working environment, which benefits both employees and the organization as a whole.
